Thank you for visiting my web site
and allowing me to share my work with you. My goal is to
continually create an interesting and informative window
of my work and to allow visitors an opportunity to tour the
exciting world of make-up special effects. I welcome your
emails and comments and will try to respond as time permits.
I’m finally getting around to updating the newsletter. I knew when opening the site that I would only be able to update when time permitted. Fortunately, we’ve been extremely busy on several projects since November, however, this worries me. With all the ongoing talk about the WGA and SAG strikes looming over us, I’m concerned that work will hit a brick wall starting May or June. I guess it’s time to take a vacation, but until then, I’ll take as much work as we can handle.
In November W.M. Creations & I were fortunate to be asked to do all the prosthetic make-up effects for “The X-Files” TV series. Needless-to-say, it’s been one of the highlights of my career to date! Each week the writers & creators come up with new ideas (episodes), allowing my artist & I an outlet in which to try new and innovative products & effects. Since “The X-Files” first aired, I’ve had tremendous respect for the show. It’s a pleasure to work on each episode and we will be putting our hearts and souls into continually elevating the make-up effects to next level. It’s also a great experience working with the department head make-up artist Cheri Medcalf - Montesanto, who has won 2 Emmy’s for her outstanding work on the show.
The artists responsible for our great work on the show are:
John E Jackson - Artist on set
Clinton Wayne - Lab & set work
Ryan McDowell
Adrienne Houle
Tim Considine
Russell Seifert
Eddie Vargas
&
Chris Burgoyne
Along with “The X-Files” we are also working on:
“K-19 The Widow Maker”
“Panic Room”
“Gangs of New York” Leo De Caprio’s prosthetics for his make-up artist Sian Griggs
All the above are Feature Films.
Also working on “Door to Door” manufacturing prosthetics for his character, Bill Porter.
Besides quite a few small prosthetic projects here & there.
Look for the new, Ninth Edition, Richard Corson’s Stage Make-up Book which came out in December. I was privileged to be asked to contribute to the prosthetic make-up chapter of the book. This book was one of my inspirations when I was first learning about make-up in 1968. I updated quite a few sections in this chapter and also added an advanced mold making section to it.
In February & March, I will be appearing at the UCLA Fowler Museum of Cultural History for “Making Faces, Playing God” exhibit presented by Thomas Morawetz on his upcoming publication of the book by the same name.
Films in Release:
"13 days" which I designed 2 prosthetic make-ups for.
New Products:
Matt Singer’s new Liquid Skin product (Tin based) Silicone gel filled appliance kit.
We are working with it on “The X-Files” and a few other projects.
It’s available through Circle K Products at (909) 695 - 1955.
Thanks
